Money problems

Filed under: Fitness and Health, Jobs — admin January 28, 2008 @ 12:03 am

My girlfriend’s cousin Pauline is studying chemical engineering. She is really good in chemistry and physics since she was in high school so she picked the course. Last week she told us that this is her busiest year because she has been doing a lot of laboratory experiments and reports as well as her research about biogas usage for her organic chemistry subject. A month ago she was pretty occupied in buying lab supplies and chemicals for her research. Buying all that stuff surely cost her much that she even sold her comic book collection to have some extra money to buy a new ink cartridge that she will be using for her paper works.

Though she has a lot of things to do, she enjoys studying and doing experiments that she is able to have good grades. There are a lot of things to buy and pay for her course that is why her parents need to work hard and give a greater effort in finding some income. They are a bit broke now a days that is why she is planning to apply for a scholarship this semester and find a part time job to finance her studies and eventually help her parents. I hope that she could find one.

Career Seminar

Ever since I was a student, I was already member of non-profit organizations and very active in participating in community services and outreach programs. This month, we are planning to conduct a seminar that will help high school students decide on which career path to take. We are planning to make this seminar interactive and we are already looking at Audience Response System Rentals. Our funds may not accommodate this for now but we are hoping that we will be able to get enough donations in time.

As a student, I also did experience the pressure of choosing the career path I should take. It seems like making a mistake about it will make a big difference in your life. Through helping students with this situation will help not only them but our entire country, helping them to make their futures brighter and clearer.

New Job

Dad has been depressed since he was laid off from his last job. He is a great graphic artist and his designs were world class. After a couple of months, he is now hired by a San Diego web design company. He came home really happy when he told us about the news. We are likewise happy especially when we heard about his huge compensation. We are going on a holiday this weekend in celebration to this. We don’t have a destination in mind yet but we are looking to go fishing.

Though we are excited about dad’s new job and our holiday as our celebration, we are also sad. Dad will be away from us because of this job. We can understand that he needs to do this for us but we just can’t help it. Anyway, I think we are still going to see him during weekends. I guess it’s alright because I’m likewise busy with my own job during weekdays.

Family’s Pride

My cousin Gary just recently finished his high school studies and he told us of his plans of studying criminology. We all think that it was a great plan and if ever, he is going to be the first police in the family. I made a joke about him getting police misconduct offenses often because of his short temper but I think he’ll really be good at service. He has improved his patience and matured a lot when he was in high school. Her girlfriend Anne was not that enthusiastic about the news but think they can just talk this through.

Gary’s mother is fine with the news. She believes that danger is everywhere and being a police is okay. She is actually supportive about Gary’s plan and she was even asking around on which college is the best for the said course. I can already imagine my cousin wearing a police uniform and driving a police mobile. I don’t know what exactly convinced my cousin to take this path but that doesn’t matter a lot. Gary wearing a badge is our pride for our entire family we are all proud of him.
